Membership in Professional Bodies:
James Singh Gitau was admitted to the Bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 1994 and obtained his LLB (Honours) from the London School of Economics, UK in 1988 after which he attended Holborn Law Tutors in London (UK), for his barrister examinations.
James was a Pupil under instruction at Denton Hall Solicitors from September 1990 to June 1991. Following admission to the Bar in Kenya he practiced law with Hamilton Harrison & Mathews Advocates where he rose through the ranks to the position of Senior Associate.
In January 2001 he formed his own law firm Singh Gitau Advocates, where, as the Managing Partner he built an impressive client portfolio including several banks, airlines, hotels, construction companies and supermarkets. James currently serves as a Senior Partner and dispute resolution lead at LJA Associates LLP. He is a practising Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with close to thirty years’ experience.
